My 08 5.4 SC'ed FX4 get better than 13mpg totally stock drive train (3.73LSD) All to do with the tune & intake

So do you have bigger or smaller than stock tires?

Gear change is gonna run big $$$$.

I saw it. Don't buy a truck for mpg, especially if you drive that much!

Just because you have an fx4 doesn't mean you have the 373s.

SCTx4 is the tuner and that 25mpg pic is running a 91 Performance/Tow custom tune from 5*

First 5 tunes are all 5* the last race tune is from MPT, I have run all of them and with exception of the 87 economy tune they are all great.

3:31 gears 2wd

I'm currently running the race tune from MPT as a daily driver because the beauty of MPT tunes is they allow you to change to a less aggressive shift pattern using the tow/haul button for a better around town feel.

The down side to all of them is it's so much fun to drive now it's hard to keep my foot out of it.

I would trade you gears if it were cheap/easy.

Drive like you have an egg under your foot. You would be surprised how effective this is.

If you plug your VIN into one of the online VIN lookup sites, you can see the window sticker which should display the gears.

I've running 3.55 in my 3.7 and consistently averaging 20. Bone stock 4x2. I ran a Bully Dog and breather on my super duty with custom tune and increased 3mpg. Theoretically, what you're doing should have helped.

You can't possibly be complaining when you have a minor lift kit,all terrain tires
.....and gas is below $2 a gallon.

Because if you are not liking it now, you better just sell it.
Gas prices were double that not long ago.

Ditch the leveling kit, and the aggressive tires.......start there.

Driving a full highway road trip, and post the mileage and MPG.

You have a full size 4x4 truck. Ditch the aftermarket intake it isn't helping you any. Its winter too so you will see 2-3 MPG difference with winter blend. Also driving 75 is hurting your MPG quite a bit. The times I went that fast in mine on the interstate I was ~14 MPG or so. Mine is an 04 2wd 4.6 and I avg 13-15 MPG in winter, usually closer to 13.

You say you need a truck, but why not look into a cheap civic or something similar to be your DD? You won't see your $ back by changing gears for a while, it might be .5 MPG difference.
