Default Washing truck with Rust spots?

How should I go about washing a truck with rust spots?
Should I avoid washing the spots or is there a special way to wash them?

You would be better off taking the rust to bare metal and priming it so it stops spreading. Then it would wash better. To minimize the area of primer you can tape off the surrounding area to protect it while working on it. If you do nothing the rust will soon grow larger than any primer spot anyways.
