Rear Window Defrost/Heated Mirror Switch
I have a 2011 F150 XLT Supercrew. Can someone please confirm this with me....
When I turn on my rear window defrost/heated mirror switch the light turns on on the dash and the mirrors/defrost function. However, it is of my understanding that if I were to open the rear slider, the circuitry should shut off.
Should this turn the "LED" off on the control switch on the dash?
Thanks,
-Steve

Not sure if 2011 is the same but according to the 2013 shop manual...
Heated Rear Window
The HVAC module controls the state of the rear window defrost relay. The defrost system is activated at one of the three following locations: HVAC module, FCIM or FDIM (8-inch [203mm] touchscreen). If equipped, the rear window defrost can also be activated/deactivated by using voice commands. When the rear window defrost relay is active, the rear window defrost grid is energized and the rear window defrost status LED illuminates. For vehicles equipped with a power sliding rear window, the rear window defrost grid (and status LED) does not operate unless the rear sliding window glass is in the fully CLOSED position.
