Pretty good info - even goes all the way back to my truck. It's amazing what can be found on the Internet - just has to knows wheres to look.
Did notice that the 5.0L is apparently listed as a 4.9L, at least for 1989 - had to look at the number of cylinders listed.
The only way I could even hope for 17 on the highway is going down a greased hill with a tornado pushing! 12 around town is about right.

hmm, dug out the spec book, and sure enough - it lists the 5.0L as having an actual displacement of 301.5 cubic inches, which converts to 4.942 liters.
Guess the Ford guys 'named' it a 5.0 to avoid confusion with the 300 / 4.9L (actual = 300.1 cu.in => 4.918 liters) 6-cylinder.

ahh - good info - I remember the Chevy 302 in the early Z's and also the Pontiac 301 - couldn't figure why in the days of big blocks and raw horsepower that manufacturers were fooling around with the small stuff.

Cool.
Should be getting 16, I have gotten 17.
That was before the knobbies... looks like its back to 16.
LOL
Do you guys think a "tuner" will net us better mpg without other mods?
