Default VR-3 Backup camera

My wife bought me a VR-3 backup camera and I want to hardwire the monitor. Where can I find a 12V ACC point so it is only on when the truck is running? I have searched everywhere and emailed VR-3 and have come up empty. Thanks for the help.

What year truck, you could tap the wiring for the power source for the radio. There is two power wires for the radio, one is for the memory, the second is for the power the memory is hot all the time while the power is hot with the ignition. As a alternative you could splice a wire from the reverse lights and have the monitor come on only in reverse.

It is a 2002. I think the radio will be an easier option. Do you know of an advantage either way?

I velcro-ed the monitor in the storage bin mounted in on the roof and tapped into the map lights for power, works perfectly, and only comes on when I turn the power on.

I tapped into the running rear lights for the actual camera, that way the camera only comes on when I turn the lights on.
