i haven't seen this before. Crazy. I bet right up to the moment he landed he thought his truck could pull that off. I am not sure if any vehicle other than a baja could pull that off. That was $50-60K down the drain right there.

ianinedm Ha ha..Yeah no doubt. I can only imagine what his insurance company said, he totaled it in that jump. Yeah some one probably dared him to see how fast and how high it could go...LOL

Thought I would chime in...I use my truck as a truck...love the crew cab for the storage of my tools and the bigger stuff goes in the back...pull a 6x10 dump trailer to haul construction debri away from job sites. Also need it to get into and out of my land...no scratching though....keep my access road wide. I am OCD about my truck so even though I use it I keep it nice. You can have the best of both worlds with a good ole Ford pickup.

It's a truck, I haul whatever stuff needs to be hauled. I don't deliberately go looking for stuff that will exceed its ratings.
It's a car, I often have 3 or 4 passengers (in complete comfort).
It's 4X4 and I go off road frequently. I don't do it seeking trouble, I just go where I have reasons to go and couldn't do it with a 4X2.
It's a tractor and if something is too big or heavy to fit in the bed, I just load it on a trailer and get the job done.
It's AWD and if the weather is nasty and the roads so bad I wouldn't dream of trying to go somewhere, I don't even give it a thought - just load up the passengers and their stuff, even if it takes a trailer, and get on with life.
It gets 20+ MPG and is the most comfortable vehicle I have ever had.

No wonder it's my all time favorite vehicle.

And my dad still drives cross country, He worked for IDI out of Oregon for many years and now is an OO leased to Trailer Transit. Hopefully he will be retiring soon.

I haven't had to yet but I will. That's why I got it. There have been so many times in the past where I needed help moving something, or we wanted something for the yard but it wouldn't fit in the car. No more of that crap!

edit: Mine is only a 2wd so I won't be doing any off roading in it. When I was a young teenager in Texas I use to go mudding all the time in kawasaki mules and 4wheelers. So I would love to, but that's not what this truck is for. Off roading is so much fun though. One day!
