Default USB Port for music using a memory stick....

I have loaded music on a memory stick by "folders", is there a way to show the folders on the screen? So I can pick which artist I want to listen to? I have a 2014 F150...

Thanks,
Jim

Yes, tell sync folder mode, use the menu and then scroll the folders.

Mike, what does going to USB 2 do?
Is there firmware upgrades for the Sync?

Thanks, Jim

to keep it simple, to do the usb2 add on simply remove the dash-top tray, and under it you will see a slot that a mini usb will plug into it.

I ran the cord to the glove box. Plugged in a thumb drive loaded with music. It keep the slot in the dashboard free for other occasional USB drive needs.

Riclar,

I can't get that to work? Put it in Sync, with the stick plugged in and say "Folder Mode" and it asks me about the phone?

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,

I tried for a while to get Folder Mode to work and never could. My solution was this ...

Downloaded an MP3 tagging program (lots of them out there) and then went folder by folder and tagged all the songs in that folder with a genre tag. Example ... My Country folder, I went in and tagged every song in there with the genre "country".

Now ... when I want to change folders, I just say .... Play genre country.

Of course when you do this you actually lose the actual genre of the songs if they are mixed together. Example ...

I now have a genre called "High School". In there there are lots of various genre's. So if I want to listen to just 70's songs ... or 80's songs ... I've lost the 70's or 80's genre because I retagged them with the High School genre.

Anyway .... works for me. Hope this helps.
