IMO its a placebo upgrade lol. You will be more cautious with your acceleration once you add anything for MPG. "You" have made your MPG better, not the spacer.

So the saga continues - all of a sudden I had a hose on the CAC come off. Since the major engine repair at 1050 I have always gotten a load air release when I let off the gas - even at slow speeds. I never having had a turbo thought that this was normal.

Well the hose apparently came completley off with a bang, because after that the air release sounded like a tractor trailer letting his air brakes off...

Took it in, they said that the hose must have been loose since the repair 9000 miles ago and could have been letting in unmetered air into the system possibly causing my bad MPG. The dealer did not have a hose but grabbed one off of another truck and made the repair so I could go on my trip.

I had high hopes. I got a little better MPG on my ALL HIGHWAY section of my trip but not a lot better. As soon as I got home and got into my normal routine / routes I quickly found my MPG was worse - for most of the time I was getting 12.6...

The truck is at the dealer now - they had to have it back to turn the warped rotors. They are running tests on it but from what I am hearing they are not finding anything on the MPG.

I can add some additional info - I have borrowed and driven another ecoboost and gotten 4+ MPG better on my same route and have driven the 5.0 loaner and gotten between 3 and 4 mpg better.

Something just does not add up, maybe the engine got damaged on the first big failure at 1050 miles.

Do not really want the truck back at this point b/c everytime I see someone posting about how great the eco runs I get pissed off all over again.

Really hoping they can find something to solve this. I would be happy to regularly be in the high 15's...

I keep mine between Empty and 1/2 full when I know I'm just going to be driving around town. No reason to haul around the extra 200 pounds in fuel everywhere. Gets me about 2 more MPG in town.

Never thought about that before, however I have always kept a full tank just because I never know when I am going to be on the road haha...

7K miles on the truck now. I just took a trip to Denver and back to Cheyenne, got an average of 18.55 driving 77-80mph... Not too bad IMO considering the speeds I was driving. that's 2.5 mpg better than I was getting when I first bought the truck...
