I avarage about 18.5 or so mixed city/highway in my 5.0L FX4 Supercab.
Damned impressed so far.
My 3.0L Ranger with 210 less horsepower I had before this truck only got about 20mpg in the same scenario.
My 1990 F-150 I had before the Ranger with the (old 5.0) only got around 15mpg in the same situation.

Just did a 300 mile round trip in SoCal, freeway with hills and grades. Got 19.7mpg average. I just got the truck 2 days ago and it had 67 miles on it. I'm going to say not bad for an engine that isn't broke in yet.

Let me tell ya'll a little story. From mid November to mid December of last year I made about 14 or 15 trips from my home in Oceana, WV to Covington, VA (around 230 miles round trip). My truck is an 09 SCAB with 5.4 and 3.55 gears and the trip was about 40% two lane roads and 60% interstate. I started out on my first trip with the cruise set on 72 mph I averaged around 16 mpg (on the computer). After a couple of trips I dropped down to about 67 mph and got around 17.4 mpg. 60 mph broke the 18 mpg barrier. On one of my last trips I sucked it up and set the cruise on 55 mph and got 19.6 mpg! Now keep in mind that I am driving in WV and VA and there are no flat roads. The terrain here is continuous up and down. On the first 40 miles or so from my home is 2-lane road. The elevation goes from about 1300 asl to 4000 asl and then back down to 2500'. Then on I-64 up to 3500' then down again to 1800' then back up to 2500' and so on. You flat landers could do a lot better than me.
Moral of the story is just SLOW DOWN. I know it's hard, I was around back when the government changed the speed limit to 55 and I did get a few speeding tickets.
It wasn't that bad driving 55 now though. It felt a little weird having a big trucks pass me but I eventually ended up catching and passing them on the next long grade.
I don't think I would like to see the mandatory 55 MPH speed limit again but I do believe it would have a big impact on fuel prices and our dependency on imported oil.

I just recently took a road trip in my 2012/5.0/XLT, from the New Orleans area to Ft Muers, Fl. 733 miles one way. I set the cruse on 74 and averaged 19.9 MPG. Truck had about 800 miles on her when I left. It ran and drove like a dream. But on the way back I got hit by flying road debris in Al. It destroyed my grille, have pieced it back together until I order a new grille.

I have summer and winter tires, Cooper Discover H/T and M&S. 35 psi on both; winter tires give 14.5mpg to 15 in town, 16.5 to 17 on the road; 60-65mph.
Summer give 16.5 to 17.5mpg in town & 18.to 19 on the road.
Maybe not much difference, but for those of you pressing for mileage, consider highway tires in the summer.
'97 F150 Scab, 4.6; K&N AND 3" exhaust only. 206,000 miles.
It's a keeper.

Just bought a 2013 Supercab with the ecoboost with 3.55 gears. I drive around 2500 to 3000 miles a month for my business and wanted decent (good) fuel economy. I was a little concerned after reading some of the low mpgs that some are getting.
I did a trip to LA from San Diego this afternoon with a stopover in Rancho Cucamonga (yeah, that's a real city) and then back to San Diego. When I got off the freeway in LA the avg mpg read 25.7 and when I got back home it was at 24.8. I'm thrilled and impressed. Did freeway speeds with the flow of traffic, some 60 or so up to 73mph.

I just bought an 05 SCREW with 5.4L about a month ago... Completely stock with a fiberglass tonneau, I got 13.8mpg on the first 2 tanks I put in it. That's a 50/50 mix of highway/city.

Just got back from a business trip. Drove from San Diego to the San Francisco bay area and then over to Sacramento and back home. 1100 miles. Made stops at 15 dealers to advertise or show off my business. Made normal fuel and food stops. The ampg was 22.1 when I got home. Most of the trip was between 65 and 75 mph. I'm impressed. My 06 5.4 was about a third less on the same type of trip.
