Default Turbo V6 or 5.0 V8?

Guys I'm new to the forum, and I'll be getting a new truck in the next couple of months. I've had my eye on 2 trucks at the dealership, a one is a Flexfuel 5.0 V8 and the other is the 3.5 turbo V6. Ive heard terrible things about the turbo V6's. What do you guys think? Should I stay away from the turbos?

I tried searching this forum and couldn't find a thread title that looked like it would discuss this. If its already been discussed, and judging by your replies it has been, just post a link to the threads so I can read up

I'm mainly looking for longevity & maintenance issues comparison. I don't do much towing and wont be squalling tires at any red lights.

If you don't tow much get the 5.0. or 3.7 v6, little known fact is that 3.7 has more hp and torque than the last 5.0 Ford had in it's trucks and that was 1996, 1997 saw the advent of the 4.6 and 5.4 and it stayed that way up until 2011 when the all new 5.0 came out along with the the 3.5 TT , 3.7 and 6.2.

The truck I've been eyeing is the 3.5L Turbo with 80,000 miles on it. I've heard those turbos don't last much longer than that. Any truth to that?

Actually, EcoBoost turbos usually go out by the 2nd oil change. You have a unicorn Ecoboost at 80,000miles sir.
