Trying to convince my dad to buy me an F-150

I took my nephew under my wing when his father (my brother) died 3 years ago. I hired him to work for me and he saved his money to buy a newer truck! We went and looked for a truck because he liked driving a bigger vehicle. When he found what he wanted, he created his own credit, signed for a 2008 Toyota tundra and has continued to save his money to make sure he could afford it. He is 19 years old and he takes so much pride in his truck. Whatever you get from your dad, just appreciate what you get, always remember that owning a vehicle is not a right...it is a privilege so don't abuse that privilege. Continue to work hard in school and one day you will find yourself appreciating everything your parents did for you. Today, so many of he kids have a sense of entitlement that it is very worrisome that the values I learned from my parents are not being handed down to todays young. Looks like you are doing things right in life so keep up the good work and keep us posted on the outcome!! Pictures would be nice too!! Good luck

Out of the big 3 for the 97-03 trucks.. only the ram was the worst (at least in the head on off set colision.)
If you can afford it aim for the late 02-04 heritage if youre certain you want a 10th gen. No plug issues.
Also for an interesting video youtube the new malibu vs old malibu crash test. They head on a 62 (i think? Its a bubble top) and a newer ('12 possibly.. cant remember) pretty interesting to see how old steel stands up, or lack thereof, to a new car

Believe this is the video you are talking about.

WOW!!!!!!!!! The driver of the 59 Bel Air would be dead. Where as the driver of the 09 Malibu would have survived!!! I really thought it would have been the other way around!!! That's a great example of how far technology, in regards to safety, as come in 50 years.

And that's what most people don't understand. The bigger impact the car takes, the less force going towards the person in the car.

Comes down to better materials and DESIGN, DESIGN, DESIGN. No amount of heavy steel can trump good design.
