Truck Bed Camping Set Ups
#11
Here's mine, The pictures are from over a year ago, the last time i used it.
It's a Napier Sportz Truck Tent 57 Series
I payed $200 for mine because Auto Anything sent out one of those promo codes when i got it, they can currently be had for $249 for a 5.6 ft bed.
I put a $20 queen size air mattress from Walmart in it, it fit great!
Kind of a pain to set up, I can do mine in about 30 minutes by myself, but if your camping for a few days and don't plan on using the truck it's worth it.
If you need to drive somewhere, you can quickly take it out of the bed, fully assembled. I went with this brand because it has a plastic "flooring" inside, so i wasn't directly on the bed surface.

Years ago when I used to go to Canada fishing I had made the back of my truck into sleeping quarters. When you opened the topper it looked like 2 twin beds with enough room to walk between them (just enough room to walk). I made the frame from 2 x 2's and the top from 3/4" plywood. Then I put foam cushions from a old couch on top to sleep on. I kept the frame under the plywood open on the sides so I could store stuff under it. This worked great and was easy to remove.
