It can definitely be too loud for you, mine is way too loud for 95% of the population, but it shouldn't be too loud to completely overcome the engine noise. It definitely doesn't make it easier to hear though, that's for sure.

Yes I test drove it, drive out nice, I noticed the oil pressure gauge was bouncing pretty bad but I don't think that's anything serious, and going down a old brick road there was a little bit of rattling noise coming from the front end that I couldn't figure out. But transmission was nice and tight, and seemed to run fine. Had a little bit of a rough idle at one point but I think that might be from sitting or it needs plugs

it doesnt sound like that big of a bad deal to me. i mean, he's giving u cash and ur the one with issues on ur truck. its kinda weird trading an 04 for an 04 but the fx4 is pretty clean. u should ask him if u can use his truck for a few days and he stay with urs. maybe u can make a better decision afterwards

I'm going to ask him for a carfax on it one more time, and if comes back the way I want it then il ask to have it for 24 hours or something. I mean he does have paperwork on the transmision work so that's a plus. But the trade just doesn't make sense to me, but I guess some guys just get something stuck in there head and if they want it they will end up getting it. Even if it isn't worth it. But I'm very picky when it comes to my truck so it has to run just as good if not better.

And yeah I thought the 04 for a 04 was kind of odd too. But I had the truck posted on Craigslist and he actually found it and got ahold me, so maybe he just wants a change or something. But i had the same thing happen with my old 04 ford focus, I put it on Craigslist because it was a manual 5 speed and the wife wanted to get a automatic car so I put it up for sale or trade and a guy ended up trading me the same exact ford focus but with a automatic and actually I ended up with the better deal. But that kind of luck doesn't happen to often.

You should sign up for Carfax if you're in the market for a used car anyway. Pretty sure there are ways to get it discounted.

That it find a local mechanic shop that does used car inspections.

Yeah it seems to me that I need to sign up for carfax so I don't have to worry about them not having it, it would just be easier.

I can run a carfax if it has a license plate#. But I used up all of my vin# searches.
