Traded in my EcoBoost for an EcoDiesel
Loved my 2012 FX4 which only had 31,000 miles on it except for one thing. The gas mileage. With my youngest son playing travel baseball at a high level I had to make the switch to a 2015 Dodge Ram Laramie EcoDiesel. As with my last F-150, I got excellent trade in on my Ford but never got the 22mpg I was promised. I got more like 14-15. I still am and always will love Ford. I am getting 28-29 mpg hwy and 23-24 in town with the Ram. I realize my oil changed and service will be more expensive, and diesel is 5-10 cents more per gallon than gas but I am pleased so far. I will be comparing pros and cons so far.

The exterior appearance: goes to Ford, too much chrome on my black Ram gonna have to black it out because I was used to the FX look
The ride: goes to the Ram, way smoother
The room: goes to Ford, especially the back seat
The gas mileage: goes to the Ram by a land slide
The interior: the Ram, lots of soft leather and wood
The acceleration: goes to the Ford it was a bit quicker but but get to 70-80 well
The technology: goes to The Ram, not only is my new Navigation screen bigger, the UConnect is much easier to operate.
The sound system: goes to the Ram with the Alpine system over Sony

Somethin' Bout a Truck...
Congrats. I'm intrigued by them as well but we've previously had diesel cars that didn't get posted MPG's because of our location/commutes so I'm doubtful it would really do me much good....and I much prefer the F150 looks.

The Ecodeisel was right at the top of my list next to what I bought. The extra cost and lack of payload just wasn't worth it to me. Also, something about how light the doors seemed when closing.
Coming from a diesel, I do like them. Keep us posted on how it does, I think they are on to something.

Same thing the famous "FORDTECHMAKULOCO" did....
Guess he got tired of working on his own Ecoboost at the dealership! LOL

I really like the ecodiesel option, as well. It's going to be a tough decision, whenever the time comes to upgrade. My 2011 FX4 has 8,600 miles on it -- and I've never gotten better than 15.5mpg. I baby it -- and still love it very much -- but was hoping for a little better fuel economy.

Whatever makes you happy, but I couldn't live with 0-60 in ~10 seconds.

I thought I read an article about the ecodiesel, if changing to it strictly for better MPG, it takes like 30k miles per year or something just to break even. I could be wrong on that number and probably am, but the number was up there.
