Heres the road I was on and you can see that it does match up. I do understand what you're saying though! I was screwing around a lil the other day and couldve easily took a pic at 40-50 mpg! lol

Exclamation

UMMMMMMM, drive about 400 miles, THEN report back with you average mpg.......

But if you get the false sense of that's what you're getting all the time using 1 gallon, then you've got a badgered ego! LOL

Yeah, I figured you'd say something like that. but then again I HAVN'T had to drive that far or hit the turnpike but MY mileage isn't too far off what I originally posted. Just showing you MY normal driving mpg around where I live. So I guess these aren't realistic numbers? It very's depending on the traffic, stop and go areas, and if i sit idle for long periods of time. I was just showing that I was impressed with MY results. My explorer got about 16-18 mpg on the turnpike and 10-12 in town which is the same as my Escape. I love my truck and Im pumped that it does as well as it has been doing! I just was showing you my "Quad" shot.

And like I said before, this is what I've been averaging in my truck. I'm not pulling a trailer, or hammering around, or have anything in it, Im just relaxing and driving to and from job sites, my kids sports practices, and other places. And your right, it does only show that ive drove close to 40 mins, and I will reset and run an entire tank through and see what it is, but Ohio is pretty flat, I always get great mileage on the turnpike.....

Looks like we are

So, I will bookmark this thread, and next year I will revive it when diesel is once again 60 to 80 cents more a gallon over gas, as history shows it has been.

Don't believe me? Go to http://www.eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

Click on "full history" for gasoline, and "full history" for diesel.

The spread sheets are too huge to post, but the trend toward higher diesel costs is obvious. Like last year.

So what is more important to you? Better mileage numbers, or lower overall fuel costs?

$250.38 for the service. Here's how that breaks down:
Oil: $101.20 (11 quarts @ $9.20/quart)
Filter: $60.00
Labor: $10.10
Disposal fee: $3.00
Diesel exhaust fluid: $58.50 (6 gallons @ $9.75/gallon)
Tax: $17.58
11 quarts?! You'll have to show me where you found that number lol. My 4th Gen Cummins (6.7L) was a 12qt change.

I've also noticed how virtually no one has mentioned the tentative maintenance costs of diesel emissions problems.

Like a lot of guy's have already said, there's almost no way the ED will beat a EB . . . But hey bro (OP), if you like your new rig, that's literally the ONLY thing that matters. Not liking what you drive is a pretty bad disease.

Just a reminder for those of you guy's that seem to be pretty hung up on numbers....

We're talking about FULL SIZED, HALF TON, PICK UP TRUCKS!
Of course guy's are going to be seeing around 13-19mpg. These trucks are a 1-3 seconds shy of being drag cars from the FACTORY.

Fresh resets are hardly accurate as you can see its just the first gallon used after a reset while the computer recalibrates

Thats all this proves. I have done this test 3x with 25mpg results on gallon #1 also.
By gallon #2 its going down and by gallon 3 it will be 20-21 if you maintain 60mph, after the computer has used enough for better accuracy

Got all excited for nothing myself also
Get 10+ gallons used on the highway and then post the real calibrated results

I can change the oil in my EB for $35 with full synthetic. People need to take out a loan to pay for the maintenance costs of owning a unECO diesel.

I used to own a 4th Gen Cummins, and I could change it's oil for under $40 (3 gallons of conventional and a filter). Doing it yourself is where you really save.
