Default Tires for towing travel trailer?

When it comes time to replace my tires, what would you recommend. I am towing an 18 foot travel trailer which weighs about 5,500lbs.My current tires size #start with the letter P. Of course I'm been told I should really get tire size that start with the letters LT.Anyhow I'm new to trucks , so I'm open to suggestions and recommendations.

the p would stand for passenger car and the lt would be light truck. the lt would get you a better load rating vs the p rating. there are also tires out there specific for trailers. i personally run p tires on my single axle trailer but don't pack your weight. when mine wear out i will upgrade to lt's.

On the trailer you should be using ST tires
