What are you guys doing about getting your truck inspected?

I'm from a fairly small town so I can get mine inspected (5% on all windows with a 12 inch brow) from my podnas shop if I slip a case of beer behind his truck. But any other shop in town won't even look at a vehicle if it has illegal tint. And I'm not sure if even my guy would inspect it if I would tint the whole windshield.

Thank u. I try hard to keep her looking good. I play hard but I am still carefull with her.
I love the mirrors. Its my first time ever having these. So it took a couple of days to get use to but I love them. I do tow things. So its not just for having. it is nice to use when towing.

WTH? They will not work on your truck becasue of tint. That is crazy. Here in Vegas you dont have to get it inspected.

While I am not a fan of dark windshield tint I think it looks good and if you need it for your eyes more power to you. It is the morons with like 20% on their windshield that I do not like (dangerous). I plan on putting Lluma Air80 on my windshield next month. I have 15% Lluma ceramic on the sides and rear now; great tint. What 3M did you go with, their ceramic?

I'm from south Louisiana. In Louisiana all vehicles have to have an up to date inspection sticker on the bottom drivers side of the windshield. You can get pulled over and ticketed if it's expired. And most shops that do inspections will fail you for illegal tint, cracked windshield, burnt lights, and a million other things. I thought all states had this.

Not for passenger cars but anything registered for over 4500kg. is considered a commercial vehicle and needs a annual inspection, so F150 is exempt, F250 is not unless you register it under GWVR.
Even so passenger cars need safety standard inspection when changing hands.
And don't get me started on BS every two years money grab emission test.

Here is a good read for us Ontario drivers: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe...ticle17966276/
I like this little titbit "Ontario's law doesn't specify a percentage of tint, it's up to police to decide whether your windows are too dark." That just makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

It's also makes it easy for cops to tell if someone had windshield tint. Because they have to cut the tint around the inspection sticker and it's damn near impossible to cut it perfect around the edges of the sticker. And most cops won't hesitate to call a tow truck if you're caught with windshield tint.

WOW that's something alright.
No nothing like that here. Some many people have there windshields tinted here. It is a very hot desert but a LOT of people do it. It is against the law but unless you are doing something dumb or driving the wrong kind of car. The cops will not miss with you. They know how it is. My old little import show car I built.....man I tinted that thing so many times. I know I tinted the windshield 4 times. And I think the sides many 6 times. But that was because of the car and all cops get jerky when they see those cars. I understand why. Out of all those only one time did I get a tint ticket with something else. I think it was changing lanes with no blinker or something.

Nice article, we all know Quebec is backwards about everything lol

Glad to know I've been okay with tints so far and like someone said, we have trucks, not ricer little civics that the cops really look for
