I'm not sure where he was going but I'm going to try and take a shot at it and say that he was meaning the tint will help hold any bits of glass together that might escape the hold of the laminate, which is honestly very easy

Looking back at the other posts by that user, they're trying to sell something (albeit very very poorly.)

Probably some Asian company trying to scam us.

It's come to our attention that you seem to feel "the need to be the Thread pooper", in a few Threads. Maybe you need to find another calling.

I have my windshield tinted... 55% LOVE it.... cuts down on the glare off the snow in the winter and cuts down on the heat in the summer.Very easy to see out of at night. I have been stopped a few times and any cop that has said anything just comments on how nice it looks and they wish they could do it.

Glad to hear it. Yeah I'm loving it so far. It's a lot lighter than I expected which I'm glad I went with 3M. I'm going to order some more and go all around again, minus the windshield of course, with 15%. I am realizing now that I would like to have 5% up front and the 5%~ the back is at currently is still pretty light. These trucks are big and open its not totally private on a full sunny day.

Looks good. Do you have any pics before the Winshield was tinted? Some pics with just the 15% on sides and over the rear factory tint?
