2013 F-150 front door speakers
Howdy,
So I have a 2013 F-150 Ecoboost. Ever since I bought it, the front door speakers have rattled/vibrated intermittently. I've brought it up several times during routine maintenance. Just my luck that each time they looked at it, the speakers were working OK.
At my last oil change, I brought it up again and they said they couldn't duplicate it. Well today, it started up again vibrating/buzzing/rattling. So on my way to work, i drove into the dealership again and this time the technician agreed with me.
Finally!
Anyhow, they ordered replacement speakers and I got a call a few minutes ago that the front speakers are backordered until mid/late February. He said a lot of folks seem to be ordering them right now.
So, with that being said, has anyone else seen the same problem with their trucks? I know on the scale of recalls, speakers is nothing to get worked up about, but I expect things to work on a truck....
I've got just over 25K on it and wanted very badly to have this problem addressed before my warranty expired. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems.

OEM speakers are garbage to begin with, do your self a favor and put in some Polk Audio (what I have). Big difference in sound for about $60. Got mine at amazon.com.

I'm having the same problem. I actually noticed it when I first saw the truck. Luckily the salesman heard it. Then when he had the tech look at it it was fine. Also was fine when I picked it up on Sat. Now it comes and go's. Just waiting to hear from him because I want the DRL's turned on and they have to figure out who will pay for the DRL's since the tech has to be paid(LOL union shop). Hope they have the speaker in stock. Good luck.

Yes stock speakers leave a lot to be desired. It is a known fact / issue that water seeps down into the door panels getting onto the speaker and terminals. Corrosion on the power wires +/- is usually the culprit for weird popping, odd noises from the speakers.
You're going to have to remove the door panels to fix this issue....might as well go ahead and put some decent speakers in there while the door panels are off. I'd put some rtv silicone over the terminals to keep it from happening again.
