Default ford bad costumer service?

First off I'm a new member, trolled the forums for about a month but never posted. Second sorry if this is in the wrong topic. but here's my story, bought a 14 f150 supercap Stx less than a month ago, have yet to even make a payment, well i purcheased the series 100 pnp remote start because the Ford accessories.com web site stated it'd be like 80 to install. I used to install directed remote starts back in the day so I knew the install wouldn't be an issue, but knew the ids would be. So I called the dealer and asked how much to just program the ids, figured it would be a little less than the full install and got quoted 120$. Wtf? So I asked how since your parent company states your full install should only be 80$? They state they are independently owned and can charge what ever they want, despite what Ford says. Cool got it, so I call Ford and inquire about this, same answer my question to them was how they can use the bait and switch and not honor their online price? Same answer they have no control over their website more their dealers but they would take my concern under advisement for the next web site update. The customer service rep was nice but also stated shed be mad as well but there was nothing she nor I could do other than return the remote start. This is my first Ford in a long line of vehicles(bmw, Toyota, Pontiac, Hyundai, maybe some others) is this the customer service I am to expect from Ford, the if you don't like it pay or don't shop Ford? Have I been spoiled by my last dealer for great service ( loaner vehicle for any thing including oil changes)?

Yea I understand that, that's not the problem the problem is Ford's website states one price at my dealer and my dealer wants to charge another price and everyone seems cool with it. I fell this is false advertising. If the website would have stated 120 or even contact your local Ford dealer for install price there would be no issue.

I dunno. Getting all bent out of shape over $40 doesn't seem worth the effort. Not a ford issue, more like a greedy dealer issue. Try another dealer.
My 100 series cost something like $350 purchased and installed at my dealer. I paid up gladly as it saved me time and effort, and helped them to keep employing people in my town.

I paid right at $500 for the install and remote. I knew I was getting screwed. The dealership knew it too. Nothing like the both of us agreeing on me getting screwed. What can you do though?

Yea I've tried every dealer around here, a few where north of 200. I know it's only 40 more but that was with me doing the install cutting and programming my own keys literally all they'd have to do is connect the programmer. Guess it's just something I have to learn to accept from ford than. Bought to buy my own programmer. Lol

I hear what you are saying. But why not get the remote start and install at the same place so you know what the cost is upfront?

BTW, bait and switch is when you are charged for one thing and receive something different, that didnt happen here, they simply did not honor an online price.

The dealers do the same thing with the trailer brake controllers. They want 1 hour to install it and 1 hour to flash it. I takes about 30 minute to do both. I installed it myself. Finally found a dealer to flash it for $36. I'll be going back there.

Sorry I guess i was wrong in calling this a bait and switch, thanks for educating me. Yeah i could have gotten them both at the same place, but than again why not honor a price that you have put online? What most people are failing to realize is that, you have a posted price online. If no dealership is willing to honor that price, why even put it on the website? At a minimum, Ford should put ****PRICES SUBJECT TO CHANGE. COSTS MAY CHANGE DUE TO DEALER PRICING**** Is that so hard? It's like ordering a pizza online for 20$ and when the driver shows up telling you its going to be 30$ because they dont honor their online price.

Complain enough untill they change their tactics, we are the costumers, and i am pretty sure ford would exist with out us. Though i could be wrong since i was wrong on calling it a bait and switch.
