Windshield 35 percent --upper 5 inches or to AS-1 line

Front side windows 35 percent

Rear side windows 35 percent

Rear window 35 percent
This rings true in MO as well. I've personally never done this but have multiple friends who have. Looks sharp, I just don't want to risk being pulled over...

on my 2010 supercrew I had the fronts tinted 18% to match the rear, then did 50% over the entire windshield with a 5% brow on the top. I never cared for the brow so on my 2014 I did the same 18% on the sides but I did 35% over the entire windshield with no brow. I liked that one better and nobody could really tell it was there unless they were looking for it. I got the tint but on the week I bought the truck and just broke the first windshield in September so I went 2 years with it like that.

What you can or can't do will depend upon the state you are living in. Most states have some type of vehicle window tinting law. In NC if you have after market tinting there is an increase to the cost of the annual inspection. The law also restricts how far down the windshield the tinting can go. Failure to comply means you cannot renew your registration and have to have the excess tinting removed.

I've had my last 3 vehicles done with a mild titanium tint on the front with legal side and rear black or dark tint. Been pulled over 2 times in 10 plus years and only instructed to have it removed, never ticketed. I even totaled my first car with this tint and had no issues with insurance covering it. The key is to use a mild titanium (mirror) tint not a dark tint like most side windows have. Its hot here in Florida and this helps keep the interior cool and you don't have to ware sunglasses unless facing the sun. If you see troopers set up ahead crack a window and let a little sun light in and no one will ever know. I think both times I got stopped was from air patrol
