So now that that is cleared up I will be listing my truck for sale soon. I am so confused as to what to ask for it. I don't need top dollar but would like to get what it is worth. I tried using internet tools but the private party sale recommendations are all over the map.
CarGuru: $4415
NADA: $6000
Cars.com: $4425
Edmunds.com: $3400
KBB: $6500
Comparable craigslist ads: Range from $3800 to $5600
Its a 1998 SuperCab XLT, 4.6L v8, 2wd, 84k miles, power windows, power locks, cruise control, bed liner, snap cover, and class 3 hitch.
Recent upgrades/fixes: Brand new tires, new front brakes, new front rotors, new brake calipers (driver & passenger), new front brake flex hoses, new plugs, new wires, new water pump, new k&n air filter, replaced IAC, replaced heater core.
I just put updated photos in my gallery to help. What do you think is a fair asking price?

Garage can only fit the 145" wheelbase. Wanted a 6.5 foot bed, so SCab is it. Rarely do we use the backseat for people.
It would have been nice to get the doors that fold all the way back like the 2014, but c'est la vie.
After hauling nearly 8 tons of metal to the scrap yard, very glad we have the 6.5 foot bed.

I haven't checked out the pics ... but my comments on the "recent upgrades/fixes" are that most buyers won't accept those things as a "premium" as they expect the brakes, tires, etc. to be in good working order. The fact you had (or chose) to replace the water pump, rotors/pads, air filter/intake, etc... that's on you.
The MAIN thing in selling a vehicle is proving it's been taken care of very well, and that you haven't put a lot of miles on it for its age. Those two things - more than anything else - command a higher resale value relative to "comparable" models.
Not saying you won't get ANYTHING out of the upgrades/fixes ... just not nearly what they cost you to replace yourself.
and from the looks of your numbers/pricing above, it would seem to me that "average condition and miles" for your truck would dictate a selling price of about $4,500. Near mint condition with low miles and you'd be about $5,500 if you ask me...

I just got an 11 Scab last month. Wanted a Screw but this one was a great deal. I have had extended cabs previously, one ford and one chevy.
90% of the time it is just me or 1 maybe 2 of my 3 kids. If it is all 5 of us my 6'1" son sits passenger side behind wife with plenty of room, 10 year old daughter in the middle and 2 year old in car seat behind me driving. Im 6'1" also and even with my seat comfortable there is still room for the car seat.
My oldest is almost 16 so him riding much longer will be few and far between. The suicide doors are a pain in the butt sometimes. Especially in parking lots. I always park out away for that reason and to avoid door dings. I also have a tool box and having a 6'5" bed and still be able to park in the garage is very nice.
Other nice thing about having a Scab is I dont notice as many around town which is nice to not have the same truck as everyone.
Having said all that. My next one in a few years will be a 157" screw, LOL

I bought my Scab the year before my son was born
I've owned it 9 years & expect it will easily last another 9 years
I would have bought a Screw if I had known how long I will own it

Couldn't agree more. I have an 11 year old boy, and 8 year old girl. With the room in the back seat, I can fit them on either side, away from each other (no bothering each other) ... and still have room between them to keep stuff ... TONS of room in front of them, and under the seat. Power inverter AND 12v accessory plug ... just get an accessory plug splitter and multi-plug of some sort for the power inverter, and the kids can plug all their "crap" in so that they stay juiced up - which in turns keeps them quiet during trips longer than down the street to the store ... LOL
