Repairing a butchered dash bezel
Wutsup guys. I've done quite a bit of basic work on my truck since I bought it and I'm convinced it will be ready for the long drive ahead. I'm backing up and have a minor repair/fab job to do now. When I bought the truck(1996 F150) the guy before me had done a butcher job on the bezel and I'm working on fixing the hole or replacing the section with something aftermarket(gauge light switch) anybody have any ideas for me? Maybe two gauges in the whole rectangle

I would just find a new/used one and swap it out. The drywall screws are also a nice touch.

If you are comfortable with repair work, have you considered cutting out the damaged panel, then backing the hole with fiberglass and filling with a piece cut from a reclaimed (wrecking yard) dash? A little vinyl cleaner, plastic putty, and upholstery paint and you are done.
Cuts should be made in the grooves to help camoflage repair

I guess you are looking at about $80 for one off ebay. I know a junkyard would be cheaper if you would still want to go that route.
I don't think the gauge idea is bad neither. Out of all the gauges I can use on my tuner, the voltage and transmission temp. are the ones I look at constantly.
