Default 9.6 Million Ford recall

Go here for information on this recall which includes Ford Trucks

http://www.ford.com/dynamic/metatags..._recall_update

This recall concerns a bad speed switch in the cruise control that can cause fires. It includes Trucks back to at 1992. I wonder how they will get in contact with people like me who have an Truck covered by this recall.

That has been around for a while, It just sounds like they are adding more years to it.

They just have to add a fuse in line to the cruise control.

With my '97 F-150 i received a letter in the mail telling me of it and they said all I had to do was show up at a Ford repair shop (with the letter) and they would fix it right away. I did that it only took about 25 minutes to do. Took me longer to drive to the place.

Hey we have a '98 Explorer. it's on the list! oh well. we did get a letter awhile back but lack of concern has proven to lead to us not taking the time and driving down. we figure its a V8 Explorer AWD, it sucks gas like no tomaro. rather not waste the gas over a little fire hazard lol.

It only took them a few minutes to do it on my truck, Im sure they have had some good practice with it.

All it it is is an extension of the wiring harness on the brake presure switch that they put a fuse on. It was done to my wifes truck.

and the link that you posted in that other thread is not quite all there. I put my truck in, and it did not come up with this recall, and I know for a fact that it was affected because I got a letter from ford.

Thanks for the info. Has anyone got a recall notice for fuel injectors? I got one in the mail just saying that they were increasing the mileage in case something happens. The dealer was saying that some injectors will just fail and need to be replaced, but they are not going to change them out unless something happens.
