Default Idea on Kicker Hideaway

Had a thought when installing my hideaway on my 2014 super crew. Instead of running the power wire all the way to the battery, could you not tie the power wire into the 12v plug on the back of the center console? Yeah, you'd lose the power to that plug, but I don't use it anyways. Thoughts???

I don't think that port can carry the power the sub needs. Check the wire gauge, if it's the same or larger than the amp power wire go for it.

Yeah, think you're correct. I popped off the cover to take a look and the wires going to the plug are tiny compared to the power line for the amp. Thanks for responding.

You will need at least a 30A circuit. It should say in the amp instructions. There is a 40A circuit for the 120V inverter option in my truck. It is a 40A circuit and runs from under the hood to a connector by the parking brake.
