I have a 97 f150 extended cab lariat. Im wanting to replace the speakers and need to know what size I need to be looking for. I started out thinking they were 6x8's, then was lead to believe they are 5x7, and now I'm being lead to believe they are 6x8's again.

those both have the same mounts, so they will both work, at least, that is what I was told.

they are 6x8s, but yeah i think the 5x7s do fit
