I have one JL 10TW3 in a home made enclosure and it is great. It is painted black. The amp is an NVX MVPA1:

Yesterday after reading all this stuff. I got off my butt and did what I have been wanting to do for sometime. The amp is a 2 channel and it was wired for each channel. So I bridge it last night and redid the settings. HOLY crap. It has a lot now. Well I guess 1800 watts will do that. I figure about 1800 the amp is 2500 but it is to much and the truck sounds like cans pass what I put it at. Love the way it sounds now. It hits so hard. With the seats down it helps with the sound.

bridging that amp made that much of a difference? hmmm.. guess I will have to try that. i have more subs than amp.. i have a 1200w amp and 1600w worth of subs. i have the same problem, i have a up-fire box and it sounds kind of muffled, i am thinking about raising the seat a little to give them some room to breathe.

is that where you mounted yours? how much of a headache was it? I have a console in the middle on the floor that I have everything stashed in right now, I had it under the driver and passenger seat, but with 3 kids, they were getting kicked around pretty good..

I have mine under the passenger rear seat, because my box only takes up 2/3 of the rear seat. A lot of guys have stashed their amps behind the rear seat, mounted to the wall. Take a look in the stereo section. There should be info in there on how to get the seat back off.
