He paid just over $3k of the 6/100K premium Ford extended from dealer. I don't think people realize that warranties are negotiable just like the price of the vehicle.

Then he bought the perma-plate appearance warranty (sounding deadening coating/paint protection/rust guard plus windshield replacement

Then he bought the tire and wheel warranty (covers any aftermarket tire and wheels on the vehicle)

I got them all transferred to my name

Op didn't you see current pics of the truck prior to committing yourself to a 1k mile drive in a rental car? There's a ton of FX4 F-150's for sale in every state year round.

Good job on bringing it back to life and getting a lower price.
I saw what I thought were current pictures...apparently not. Really all the guy had to do was get his windshield replace (for free with his warranty), put a $100 piece of glass on his driver mirror, have the check engine light issue fixed (under his warranty free), replace the $14 plastic cover on the passenger seat, and detail the crap on the the truck.

Just obvious the guy didn't take pride in his ride...plus it's just common courtesy to make a vehicle right for the guy driving across 3 states to come get it.

I got the truck for about $3-$4k cheaper than I could locally PLUS I ended up with his 100k warranty plus glass and tire and wheel warranties so I made out pretty good.

I guess you never know his circumstances, not saying he couldnt have taken care of it better, but sometimes work trucks get torn up like that. Out in places like here in the south texas oilfield, my work truck has gotten dirty, chipped and dinged up, and it gets to a point where you dont even bother cleaning for long periods of time cuz its about to get dirty and messed up again and i dont have to time to keep it clean.

Phantom Bill, No doubt some people are clueless. I also know a lady who ruined her car cause she said she didn't know she was suppose to be getting the oil changed. Duh! And there are a few people at my job that purchase new vehicles, only for it to be looking like crap in a matter of few months. They run over stuff, run their car aground and mess up the front of it, and everything.

Wanna Ride, Yes indeed. I am in total agreement with this statement. I have a brother that is a realtor. You will be surprised the amount of people no matter what economic status, put their house on the market, have open house and all, with out cleaning up or fixing up the house. The realtor company he work has to always tell people to clean up and make the house presentable for future buyers.

@$1KaDay Congratulations to you. Race red is a beautiful color. The truck is gorgeous. Glad you were able to fix up the broken stuff, clean it up and make it nice for yourself. Enjoy

Oh, I know. We own a residential cleaning business. The bigger and nicer the house, the more the inhabitants are pigs. You couldn't believe how disgusting some people are. Empty food containers left all over the house, dirty plates, etc. and I don't mean on the table or kitchen counter... All over the house. Not one coffee cup either. And I'm not even going to discuss their hygiene practices.

Wanna Ride Yeah no doubt. We have seen that too. I figure if you have the money to live in expensive houses, then hire some one to clean it up if you don't have time to do it your self.

this is why my truck never leaves paved roads, washed weekly and waxed monthly, and no eating or drinking allowed and the oil gets changed every 3k and other fluids on a regular basis...i want to keep that sucker lasting and looking good for a very long time...some people just dont appreciate a vehicle
