Talking So What Made You Choose FORD?

What made you choose a Ford instead of a Ram or Chevrolaid contraptions? What was it that is the deal breaker for you? Have you always been a fan of Ford, or are you just enjoying a one-truck stand with them, and may revert back to another brand at another time.

Personally this is my first truck purchase and i could care less about the Ford brand, the truck just looked really beautiful (but the salesgirl was even moreso), they gave me a discount of $10,000 if i traded my $3000 car to them. I like how the truck looks both exterior and interior, all the buttons and ***** are redesigned to look really nice and futuristic. The AC vents look really nice and aesthetically pleasing. I am really happy with this one, but sorry, no brand loyalty with me.

I thought I was buying a Dodge, but it turns out somebody put Dodge emblems on an F150.

I've had great luck with my 73, 84, 92, 99 trucks and now expect good fortune with my 13 f150. Hard to change when I've had such great service since 73. The 92 was/is an especially good truck; I'd still be driving it if a family member hadn't been hard up for a vehicle......they are still driving it (different family member but same outcome with the 99).

I've driven many different trucks before and have always thought that Ford had the most solid, quiet feeling ride. I personally like the look as well though the Ram is a great looking truck as well.

I've owned Fords since 1987 (1971 Ford LTD). With the exception of one bad idea (1983 Ford EXP) I have had great luck and a lot of enjoyment out of my Fords. The F150 is simply the best 1/2 ton available, bar none, so when it was time to get another truck, there really was no other reasonable option. Further, Ford didn't take taxpayer stimulus $ like GM and didn't sell out to the Europeans and Chinese like Jeep, Chrysler/Dodge, so they get my patriotic vote too!

IMHO: Chevy's are ugly as are the Toyota's and Nissan's and the Dodge's I've owned all seemed to rust quickly. I had a '97 F-150 with the 4.6l but after the tires literally came apart and feeling like it was all it could do to tow a small pop-up camper I got rid of it and didn't even look at Ford trucks for the longest.

I had a 2500 Chevy with the 350. 200k of hard use before the motor went and no rust at all. I would have looked at Chevy's but like I said, not a fan of how they look now. After that I bought a used Dakota at auction. 3.9l that would not die but it was a ballless truck that got 13 mpg and rusted out just like the wifes '04 Durango, my '94 Ram and my old Fury. Since I paid so little for the Dakota I wasn't really that upset with the rust but I knew I wasn't going to buy a new Ram with the likelihood of it doing the exact same thing all my other MoPars had done.

That left Ford. I test drove an Eco and the 5.0l and the 5.0l won out since I got a better deal on it which put me in a truck with more options (minus the Ecoboost and max tow) that I wanted. So far it has been great. Gets good gas mileage (yes, I look for good gas mileage even in a truck) and does a great job towing what I need to tow. I had one major issue ('puter stuff) after about 1k miles that kept it at the dealer for 2 weeks but they fixed it and all is good.

I've owned and / or had a work truck from GM, Dodge, Toyota, and Ford over the last 30 years. I can honestly say, Ford has been the only manufactures truck I have had no issues with. Everything else has had everything from minor issues to major problems.

I'm sold on Ford trucks, and it will take some convincing to get me to even look at anything else right now.

I went to buy a Range Rover but when I picked it up it had F150 badges all over it. I think I got duped. I'm not brand loyal but I love Lucky Charms because they are magically delicious.

Sorry OP it will be a long time before I'll take any of your threads at face value. Good luck with your Ram, Dodge, Ford or whatever truck you actually bought.

Well you're just gullible. My dealer hooked me up and gave my truck bowties on the tailgate and grill to show how classy it is and then added .3 liters to the 5.0l motor and made it less powerful so my 16 year old would be safer. Now that was nice of him
