snow plow on 89 F150 156" wheelbase

Default snow plow on 89 F150 156" wheelbase

I have a 89 F150,4x4, 302, supercab, long box, (156" wheelbase.) Apparently, Ford does not recommend putting a plow on F150's with this wheel base. Anybody know why exactly? or if i can get away with plowing with it anyway. I would like to do driveways around town with it, if it will hold up. any thoughts greatly appreciated.

I am not sure why they don't recommend it for the longer wheelbase, but if you do decide to install a plow, you may want to invest in some stiffer coil springs for the front to handle the extra weight.
1996 F150 Scab longbed, 5.8L, 4x4, 31x10.5 tires, 212k miles and counting. step bars, low-profile tool box, Euro-clear turn signals & headlights, Euro taillights, vent visors, class III Reese hitch, Tekonsha brake controller.
