Default Leaking power rear glass

I have a 2010 F-150 S crew with an extended (100K mile) warranty. When the power sliding rear window stopped working, I took it in to the dealer. They told me the seal had malfunctioned and the moisture ruined the motor. My warranty would not cover it b/c it was an "act of nature." Ford won't do anything either. The estimated repair cost was $901 plus tax. Is it me, or is this wrong?

The moisture falling from the sky is an act of nature. A seal malfunctioning is NOT.

Correct.....the idea is to manufacture the product to withstand the act of nature and if it fails then there should be a warranty for repair....

A pathetic design is not an act of nature. My power sliding rear window leaks every time I wash my truck and when it rains too hard but two different Ford dealers have assured me that "it's normal"

Hi Smithg1864,

What's your truck's current mileage? I'd like to look into this further.

Hmm, sounds frustrating, harrison14allen. Let me know the model year and mileage of your truck; I'll research this, too.

I have a 2011 and it has 40k miles on it and thank you but I will not have this truck much longer. I have owned four (I'm only 25) F150's but Ford service after the sale is so bad I'm not certain there will be a fifth. I go back and forth between College Station, TX and Weatherford, TX so I've been dealing with Southwest Ford in Hudson Oaks and Varsity Ford in College Station if you'd like to note that. Additionally, Southwest Ford's service department has tried to take advantage of me more than once. They also put 20 miles on my truck when I had it in one day for an oil change. That was completely unauthorized. They denied it had happened and I had no way to prove it did. I will never enter set foot on their premises again.

Send me a PM with your information, Smithg1864; I'll escalate this to your regional customer service manager so they can help. In your message, please include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and preferred servicing dealership.

I'm sorry to see that we'll be losing you as a member of the Ford family, harrison14allen. If your needs change, let me know and I'll do what I can to help.
