Default Screeching (metal on metal) noise

I have a 2005 f150 5.4 v8 4wd. Recently it has started making a metal on metal screeching sound. It sounds if it's coming from the driver side front. It happens between 40-70 mph. Happens when going up a grade and with a light load on the engine. I have replaced the Iwe solenoid hoping that would fix it. However it did not. I have tried switch it to 4x4 when the noise starts and that seems to stop it although I haven't done that for an extended time. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated because the noise is incredibly annoying.

Check front brake pads. Some pads have wear indicators that rub on rotors that screech like crazy. I'm guessing you all ready checked this.

Hard to understand what your describing... You mention the engine being under load, so is the noise coming from the engine?

Could be wheel bearings....

I'm not a professional, just my .02's
