Default Rust Repair

What are my options? My F150 is a 2002 with 165k miles and I think its got alot of life left. However over the last 6 months this rust spot has gotten out of control and looks terrible. I am wondering what my options for repair are and what the costs would be? I want to get a grasp on things before I take it to a body shop. Otherwise is there a cover up such as a stainless steel rocker panel that I can put on there? I am sure I am not the only one with issues like this. This is the only bad rust spot on the entire truck.

Any help is appreciated. I am located in Minneapolis, MN.

The only chance at stopping it is to cut it out and replace it with good metal.

Anything else you do to cover it up is only temporary so it depends on how long you want it to look decent.

I consider a rust treatment and then Plasti Dip but decided to replace the whole truck instead.

There is only one proper way of fixing rust and that is cutting rust out and welding in new steel. Using expanding foam and fiberglass is extremely temporary fixes. I have a 63 ranchero and it had all the short cuts done to it and I can tell you it made the problem way worse.

yep cut it out and fix it is the only way... This is why you need to stick the hose in behind that area and rince it out when you wash it. looks like that one rusted from the inside out.
