Default Bright light run when I turn fog lights on

I have an unusual question. Most people want to know how to get the fog lights to run while your bright lights are on. I want to know how to keep the brights from turning on. I recently bought some new fogs for my 08 f150. After I installed them, when I cut them on the bright lights come on with them. I like the fact that I can have my brights and fogs on at the same time, but I want to be able to run my fogs without my brights coming on too.

How have you wired them?

Why do you want fogs and brights? That doesn't make sense for fogs intended use. If your reason for fogs is visibility, then they should only be on with dims.

I bought a set of the LEDs for my headlights and fog lights. All of these models are pretty much just plug and play. As soon as I hooked everything up and cut my fog lights on the brights cut on with them and when I cut the fogs back off, the brights turn off with them.

When I got a new bumper due to old one rusting, I got one with slots for fogs.
I wired them up to my parking lights and they stay on regardless of bright or dim headlights. I understand what your saying for fogs intended use, but they really do make the road more visible, so much so I've drove in town and forgot I didnt have my headlights on yet.
The difference between having fogs and not having fogs with headlights is huge.

I run with my fog lights on whenever my headlights are on because they fill in an area just in front of the truck that otherwise is dark. And these old eyes don't work as well as they used to.
Did you not have fog lights before? My '05 had fog lights and the light switch pulled out to turn on the fogs. I could run them with or without the headlights. I don't know if the foglight wire is already in the harness,(my guess is it is) but if you had the foglight switch, you might be able to run your own wires I suspect there is a relay and fuses for the foglights, everything else has it's own circuit.

Wink

How she is now with all my lighting

In my case, I added a set aftermarket fog lights into the lower grill opening. I wired them independently on a wireless remote. I keep the fob mounted on the dash. If I need some fill with high beams on I hit the switch.

Yeah, I have the pull out switch to cut on my fogs but every time I pull it out to cut my fogs on it also cuts my bright lights on with them. It makes it where I can't run my fogs all the time.

Question

So you have an '08 correct? Does it have factory halogen fog lights built into the Bumper? And if so,does the factory light switch pull out to turn your factory Fog lights on? From the factory, the Fog lights should operate either on their own, or only with the low beams on, not high beams. If I'm reading you right. You said you bought a set of LED's for your Headlights AND Fog lights? Could you be more specific? Did you replace the factory halogen Fog lights with some type of LED Fog light "Bulb", or Fog light assembly that is LED? Did you leave the factory Fog lights in place, and install another set to the truck? Do you still have the factory halogen Headlights on the truck? Something is not compatible, or is wired incorrectly. Because even if you bought a set of Assemblies that are suppose to be PNP, they still should operate as the factory Fog lights when switched on by the dash light switch. It could be that the previous owner added something to the lights for his own purpose. Then possibly goofed when he removed whatever he put on, and tried to put it back to stock.

Yeah, I have the 08 with the factory circle fog lights in the bumper. The factory headlight switch pulled out cuts the fogs on. I bought aftermarket LED's for the head and fog lights. Here is the aftermarket lights that I bought. http://www.ebay.com/itm/141337637188?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Everything else is stock. I just replaced the headlights and fog lights with this brand LED's. Thanks for all the help!

I like the truck man! I've always been a fan of the red and tan.
