Default Same issue on my 2010 F150

Glad to have found this thread. For years I've noticed small water stains in the back corners of my crew cabs headliner. Never have found it wet though.

This year, with a ton of rain in April, I finally found it wet and have had a little water on my leather seats.

Being out of warranty and with no re-call, I guess I'm stuck paying for this myself.

Sounds like the most common cause is the brake light; I'll start there.

I bought my 2010 Supercab used from an out of town dealer. We started seeing water and I assumed it was the Sirirus antennae. I had my wife ask the service advisor at the dealer she has her Escape serviced at. He told her "it was out of warranty, cheapest fix is get on Youtube and search for how to fix it yourself, because we'd have to charge you". Turns out it was the third brakelight, I got the 3M ribbon caulk, what sucks is I have a canopy I'll have to pull to fix it right.

I was initially skeptical of the rubber grommets/strips that run over the top rear corners of the cab (how's that for a convoluted description?) but with one issue addressed it will be easier to identify if the situation is indeed solved or if the corner rubbers are failing. The truck has 71,000 km on it. It was an old guy's truck before so it's been very gently used. Much happier with it than with my 08 SDuty.
I too noticed the rubber strips with rivets when I washed the top of my truck. I thought to myself....well there's a leak waiting to happen...!

What on earth are these strips for??? and why would they be riveted on...?

That is a good question.

I have a 2011 and I just noticed the water dripping from the corner on the driver's side last week. Luckily my back seat was folded up but the floor got soaked. I'll be more than pissed if this causes mold, especially since my wife is highly allergic.

I suspect the rivet so I put a bunch of silicon around it. If it doesn't stop I'll work on the third brake light.

I am upset at the build quality and the run around I get from the dealer. I will never buy another Ford.

As I tried to figure out how I assumed it was the seal on the rear window but looking closer I noticiced the headliner between the door and rear window was full of water and dripping. Not only have I just discovered mine is leaking...but my rocker panels are rusting out...Have a 2010 with 45,000 miles on it....deal is trying to say its road salt....I say bull****....

My 2013 started leaking this spring. I was told it was the rivet on the roof. Dealer fixed it. Few weeks later leaked again. This time they said it was the rear window. Dealer pulled the rear window and put in a new window seal. It leaked again, so they pulled the window again and broke the window in the process. Now they said it was the 3rd brake light? So now, new window and seal new brake light seal. Got truck back, leaked again. Now back to the pop rivet! Put a bunch of sealer on the rivet. Fixed the leak, but my headliner was a mess. Took 2 weeks for Ford to agree to put a new headliner in my truck. This is my 4th F150. I have had an 86, 92, and an 02. This 2013 will be my last Ford Truck!!

Same thing I did to the 3rd brake light and satellite antenna.

Default Roof leak

I just had the gasket replaced on rear cap break light...next day went out and is leaking worse than before..have a 2010 f150.not only is headliner all stained, but carpet is moldy... Dealer told me they had a lot that were leaking and even had gaskets in stock...well if they knew they where leaking why not change them when it was in for service, instead of waiting til all the water damage. Now they say it's not covered by my warranty.... Also just found out my rocker panels are rusting bad and also won't cover it...Truck has 45,000. Miles on it... Trying to tell me it's from road salt.. I don't hardly drive it in winter, drive my other car...than dealer gives me a 2011 f150 to drive til they trying and fix mine. And guess what. The rocker panels on it are starting to rust....has 25,000 miles on it... Will never buy another ford truck...

I am pretty sure they have to warranty corrosion for a certain period of time, may want to look it up.
