I remember a single vehicle accident in south texas a few years ago, the driver of a ford f250 fell asleep drove off the highway. He had 15 folks on board, most of them in the bed inside a light weight camper shell. They found bodies for over 50 yards. The only survived was a kid that bed strapped into a seatbelt.

My rules seatbelts on or truck doesn't move. And for my boat. All occupants have the life jacket on while underway.

Is there a liability issue if some gets hurt god for bid. In Canada Ontario you can get a ticket for drinking a coffee. They now call it distractive driving, even eating a sand witch,
Friend of mine got a ticket for smoking in his truck, he said it my truck I can smoke if I want to. The cop pointed at the lettering on the truck he was a carpenter. The cop said you are smoking in a work place, being his truck was considered commercial truck. 300.00 buck fine

So compare your "everyone needs a seat belt theory" to a motorcycle rider/passenger without a helmet on????????????

It seems in Florida you can also ride in the back if you are the means to hold the cargo. Like a mattress or a pile of 2x4's LOL I never see those bozo's get stopped by a cop for doing it, but it seems so stupid it must be illegal
