Default Revealed: Secrets of the F150

my buddy is a Ford sales rep. About a year and a half ago he showed me that my 2008 has something called (((one touch start))). Holy moly you could have knocked me over with a feather. I didnt know there was such a thing. He said even alot of sales reps didn't know. I did not see it in literature either. I believe he said it was a late addition in 08.

Come on now confess.. how many of you didnt know you have 1 touch start? And is there any other SECRETS OF THE F150 UNLOCKED you can share.. useful tips/trivia or otherwise.

I think the "one touch start" is when you go to crank it, you dont have to hold the key down. Basically, turn the key until it cranks and let go. The truck will continue to crank until it starts.

You just turn the key to start and release.... the starter will continue on its own until the engine starts (no need to hold the key in the start position), this is actually mentioned in the 2010 brochure, so, its really not a "secret"... LOL.

My mom bought a 2008 Wrangler that had that feature, well we all know that Chryslers are pieces of crap so when, inevitably it wouldn't start it kept cranking and cranking until the starter overheated and then it finally cut off.

Shes also had to replace the Airbag module and clock spring, have the computer reprogramed to fix a shifting issue, replace the tranny lines twice, replace the heater controls, and it only has 34,000 miles!

Sorry to jack this thread, I just felt like venting.

Yes, he is correct! But i believe it only appeared in 2008. Can anyone with an older year confirm this? Come on, I know there are some 2008+ owners out there who dont know about this cool feature anyone.. anyone ...
