Default Retrofitting oem housings. Need some advice.

After a weekend of research I talked myself out of projector headlights. I'm going to be using a retrofit resource kit in an OEM Black Smoked Housing. From what I've read this is the way to go. My truck is a 2011 XLT. I'm hoping you guys can recommend a good kit for me to purchase.

Hi.

Mini H1 v7.0 fer ease of install. Terrific entry-level system.

Mini D2S 3.0 for better output, a little more effort, lens options and a MUCH more diverse choice of industry-standard D2S capsules.

FX-R for great width and if yer a Samurai with tools, lol.

OEM projectors and premium capsules are also available for the very best in output if you have deeper pockets and are a maestro in the shop.

There is currently a Group Buy going on - jump on that!

Some other stuff - stay with 35 watt ballasts, and keep the Kelvin rating @ 4500K-5500K. Obtain dielectric grease, quality butyl, epoxy/Steel -Stik, etc.

BTW - by 'smoked' you mean the interior housing colour, right? IF the lens is tinted you need to think about getting another set of housings - that will hinder output.

ETA: some beam shots: http://www.raptorretrofit.com/projector-output-shots/

good luck

Mini H1 v7.0 kit it is.

Two questions:

1. Which h13/9008 harness. Motocontrol bixenon OR canbus h13 relay harness

2. The led halo option. Is this an option or mandatory? I think I lost my "appetite" for halo's.

Mornin'!

2011? Go fer the CANBUS harness. BUT - I'd give 'em a quick call ( their site has a 'Chat' feature that works), to confirm for sure. Motocontrol * may * be adequate.

Ghey-Lo's are, thankfully, Optional

Cheers!

Yea, I'll ask them when I order today. I've seen enough videos and read enough to make myself dangerous.
