resonator delete...to do or not to do.......
2011 f150 5.0 4x4. wanting a good deep rumble, not really loud and annoying, just a good clean rumble. So i cut out the stock muffler and installed a Magnaflow single outlet 18" muffler. Its deep and sounds great, and inside the cab you can hear a good rumble at takeoff. but then i have the one stock tip sticking out the passenger side, and think "hmm, maybe i should dump it under the bed", so i grab a sawzall and chop it off right before the last bend to come out from under the truck. now its completely silent inside the cab....i would have thought the opposite?? according to the wife who was outside when i left an pulled back up, its actually louder on the outside, but it kind of bothers me that i cant hear it anymore inside. So question is, what exactly does deleting the resonator do?? will it stay deep and clean?? will i get a little more rumble back in the cab?? opinions please? thanks!

I hacked mine off just behind the cab. Like yours, It sounds good outside the truck, but I don't hear it inside until I really crack it open. I am interested in what it sounds like sans resonator. Keep me/us posted!

So did some reading online and watched some youtube vids to hear some different 5.0 sounds, and apparently, even though the exhaust will get louder, it will loose some of that deep note that i like, so i decided to leave the resonator alone. i guess i wont be able to hear it much, but at least i know people outside will get that deep tone when i pass by
