Default replacing my 1997 4.6l triton engine with a 2000 crown vic engine

I have a 1997 f150 4x4, motor has 169,000 miles. Knocking on the lower end. I need to replace the engine. came across a 2000 crown vic short block, good place to start with the rebuild. Is the short block romeo the same for all years, and can it be rebuilt and install rebuilt heads on it.
Thanks

Our truck engines are actually different from the car engines, ours are taller where theirs are wider so you'll have some problems getting it in the engine bay

I am actually about to do the same thing in my 98 F150, salvage yard told me it was a direct swap just need to use my F150 upper and lower intake and swap oil pans.

Do a little more research on it because they'll say anything for a sale

2000 has a PATS system, IIRC. Make sure that is either set to disabled, bypassed, or one has keys capable of working with it.
