U can program your fob by yourself in about a minute. Look up the procedure to verify bit if I remember correctly this is all u need to do:

Sit in truck, close door and turn key to on position (do not start truck)

Wait until one of the lights on the dash goes off, I think it's the theft light

Take any fobs you want to program and hit the lock button then unlock, do this with each fob you have sequentially, take key out of ignition

Done

It's been a while since I've done one of these but that should be the procedure, I'm sure there is a thread on here somewhere to verify

Btw if u want a free fob just go to a busy valet stand and ask them if they have any extra ford fobs, I used to be a valet, people lose their key fobs all the time, valets usually have a stash of extra/lost keys. any late model ford fob should work, also tip the valet if they give u one

May just have to go to a valet and check, for just in case this one breaks or something!

If the previous owner left the manual in the glovebox there should be a card in it with your pad code on it. I can,t understand how these owner's manuals make it out of the vehicle. Key tags and everything should be left there for the new owner. I remember one member here saying that the keycode can also be found behind the rear seat.?

The previous owner didn't leave me the owners manual or anything, I'll check behind the rear seat though that'd be great if it was there!

the factory code is behind the rear seats. there will be a box next to you rear windown motor (if you have one) that will tell you the factory code. not sure about reg or extended cab, but with my screw taking the rear seat off is a huuggeeee pain in the ***** and i have yet to tackle it. there is a wright up on here somewhere though. just do a search and you should find it.

to program the key fob this is what you do.
1.) have all the key fobs you wanna program.
2.) make sure all the doors are shut.
3.) cycle the ignition 8 times and on the last time leave it on,
4.) push lock then unlock on both key fobs at the same time and your done.
5.) have a beer for a job well done.

the dealer i used to work for had a box of spare keys from car that were no longer there. i took a couple fobs to program to my grandmas Taurus in case they locked the keys in the car (only have 1 key)

to program a key it takes 15min to get into that module on the ford computer. its to deter theft
