Ummmm, Not necessarily true.....
I have a 2014 with the 3.6 V6 Pentastar, and its averaged 27-28 in the first 800 miles......Depends on your driving style as well.....
So, it is possible.

The overall design of the Dodge rear doors is also extremely similar between quad and crew.

Same thing happened to me, rented an econo-****-box and ended up with a one-way XLT 5.0

I just rented a 2014 V6 Mustang in Seattle over the last weekend, after 460 miles of driving in 3 days (all around the Seattle metro area) i got an average of 23.5 MPG.
Compare this to the Chevy Cruze i rented when down there in 2012 and i got 25.6 MPG. The stang was A LOT more fun to drive!
renting a "premium fullsize" in Vegas here in about a week and a half...we'll see what i get out of that deal.
