Yea my last dealer did the same customer plant scenarios. They got several techs fired over stuff like that. Always was the idiots though, so I considered it cleaning house and taking out the trash. Rule #1 never **** where you eat, so taking business from my work is a huge no no.
No worries. I should've been more clear in that post.

Yeah, you could tell the plants quick. They constantly asked for your name. Literally every other sentence was, "what was your name again? I didn't catch your name? Hi, what's your name? "

It was amazing so many people fell for it

Pretty much up to the dealer owner, all dealers are independent entities and rules vary, the dealer I worked at they got paid a salary plus anything they could upsale.

Yeah, I used to get pissed when some things weren't upsold. Like rock chips on a hood I'm blending. 5-10 chips weren't a big deal to do for free... But a hood that looks like it was hit with 3-4 blasts from a shotgun, and I had to take an hour or 2 to sand them all out, then prime it, ugh that sucked to do for free.

I went for service a few times at the dealer I purchased the truck from...
I got it all from "you should probably do an alignment" to "wanna me to flush the brakes?" every time I was there...

this last time, went to another dealer, nada. "you're in for service under the FMPP?" "yep" "ok, give me 1.5 hours"... "oh btw we replaced your front brakes, no charge, you're good to go. Free carwash?" . I liked that! Commission or not, I dont know, but I hate people trying to sell me unnecessary sh&t.

(still waiting for a quote on winter tires from that same guy, but that's another issue...)
