I usually run Shell because its closest to my house. Second choice would be Chevron but no stations around here.

My car runs like crap on that gas . . . So does it as well with Murphy Oil's gas at Wal-Mart.

No way I'm putting that junk in my truck!
http://www.valero.com/products/pages/toptierfuel.aspx My truck runs great on Valero but I only have experience with one of their stations, they got a pretty nice one in the town I go to.

That's the main reason I stopped using Valero several years ago.

Note that Valero is a major refiner of gas, i.e. they supply lots of brands...

Default Preferred fuel station?

Everything I've read says Valero trying to re-establish themselves as a premium brand. They didn't get top tier status till just a few years ago and the one I go to is new so maybe that makes the difference. I had never ran their fuel till about 2 years ago I usually run shell but don't see a difference between the two as far as performance and mpg.

I pump at the Navy Exchange everytime with their regular. The quality is average but the prices are great! usually 5-40 cents cheaper than the pumps out in town! If I am on the road I like to pump at big truck stops like Love's, Pilot, Petro, etc.

Velero refines gasoline ok but they do not make gasoline into any particular brand. The final Brand of fuel is is determined by the individual major gasoline brands except their own. Unless other brands uses exacty the same fuel. Major brands such as Shell, Exon, Conoco/Philips are determined by the additives they put in it.

After working in the load out and blending stations for 2 refineries doing maintenance and upgrades I just laugh at that "top tier" stuff. My pick is co-op's 91 octane premium for most stuff except my one truck and my lawn tractor which run on PetroCan/Husky 94.
