Default Possible diesel in the F-150's future?

Article about the Ford Transit which will be built in the Kansas City plant and its diesel engine.

Last paragraph is interesting, who knows what the future may hold. With a little HP and torque boost it may be viable.

Umm that's dated 2012. And whats up with all the belts on that thing? I thought we were supposed to see one belt these days.

Just noticed the date you pointed out and this was on Yahoo news page today, probably why I didn't see it anywhere else in the news.

My bad.

It seems to me Ford is going all-in on the turbo charged gas v6's right now. I'd be surprised if they added a diesel to the mix. But, it would be a good surprise! I don't wanna drive a Ram very much, but that Ecodiesel has me paying a bit of attention.

As long as the turbo engines are being offered I don't see Ford going the Diesel route in half tons. I believe the 2014 3.5 could tow 11k pounds properly equipped. I can't see many people routinely towing that much unless they use it a lot and at that point why not upgrade to the 250 diesel.

I wonder if a natural gas flex fuel version of the F150 will be available in the future?
