That pic will have to wait though as she's back into the dealer today for the items they owed me at delivery that were not yet completed: first oil change, new windshield, bed cover and the '14 lower grille insert

I blame my wife for this. She has a Lexus es350 with all the leather interior and wood grain steering wheel. I started to look for a Lexus rx350 because I loved all of the nice interior qualities. Then I came to my senses and started looking for a luxury truck if you want to call it that. That's when I found the platinum that I had no idea ford made. Went and test drove it and feel in love immediately. I had a Nissan Titan LE and going to the platinum was a major step up. I had owned the Nissan for ten years and will do the same with this platinum if not longer.
It is not Called a luxury truck. It is called a Gentleman's Truck

Beer Gut Extraordinaire
You know, I probably could've waited until about February when the unsold 2013 Platinums go to the used lot for quick clearance at below invoice pricing and gotten one for about $2k CAD more than my FX4.
And while I think the interior colours and trim are absolutely beautiful especially in the Pecan colour, the exterior just isn't my style. I told myself that if I bought a Platinum I'd be tearing off all of the extra chrome jargon that you pay extra for anyway. If Ford produced a model that combined the exterior of the FX4 with the interior of the Platinum - say the "Titanium" model, they'd have my money. But I went for the FX4 and it spoils me with having most of the Platinum's features without the fluffy stuff that comes on the Platinum.

It's funny you mention the Pecan interior because I went on a whim in August to look at one with that interior and ended up buying one, albeit without the Pecan interior, that same day. I specifically bought an Ingot Silver Platinum so that the extra stuff wasn't quite as obvious. The tailgate panel and other polished/chrome extras on it blend very well with the silver as opposed to the other colors where the contract is incredibly drastic.
In the end I wanted the Platinum interior and did compromise a bit because I'm not the biggest fan of all the bling. But the silver exterior certainly helps it not stand out so much

Yup, HardcoreFXFour nailed it. I love the exterior look of the FX4, but wish it had some of the bells and whistles of the higher end models.
Just like me! Tough looking on the outside, but with a gentle inside.
