That's not bad gas mileage in the winter. You are driving with wind coming at you from the southwest. Drove to STL from Cincinnati about a month ago. My 2013 F150 has a 5.0 and 3.55 gears. Had 20 mph headwind with gusts to 40 mph. Got 15.6 mpg. Worst gas mileage I have ever seen with the truck. Coming back, slight tail wind. 21 mpg. Drove both ways cruise control set at 70 mph.

You left out how fast you are driving. These things are shaped like bricks. I was surprised by how crappy mileage by '14 ecoboost got. Then I tried driving slow and got advertised mileage. Try driving a stretch at 60mph and you'll be happy with the mileage.

I've got a 2014 FX4 5.0 I bought new, always, according to the dash read out, I get about 13.5mpg average. I drive fairly aggressive, bit not real bad.

It sounds pretty typical.

I turn my display on something other that MPG so I don't have to look at the number. Gas is cheap and if I wanted MPGs I would be risking my life in a Prius. Ignorence is bliss!

I bought my 2014 FX4 eco boost in December. Crew cab, 4x4, and 3.55 gears. I've been getting about 17 indicated, 16.5 calculated in mixed driving. What's probably killing me the most is highway, I cruise at around 73-74 and the instant mileage indicator sticks right at 17mph on the highway. When I'm on 2 lanes going between 40-50 it's normally around 20mph. And I work downtown, so there's a lot of stop and go and idling at stoplights.

What kills me is this is the EXACT same fuel mileage my 05 Nissan Frontier (also crew cab 4x4) got. It jumped to 18mpg calculated in the summer, so I'm hoping this truck will do the same.

My 04 F150 with the 4.6 2wd 3.73 gears drops about 1-1.5 MPG using winter blend gas, hand calculated, which is why I've decided to drive my 17 MPG Jeep Wrangler more lately even though its not summer . At least that's the excuse I give my wife.

Winter blend got me for 1-1.5 mpg, I guess I never noticed it before in my Rangers.

LOL Brick...........truth. I drive over a large bridge every day with a 2deg rise that is 200ft + high. If your going up grade and get a headwind you can watch the mpg drop almost real time. Of course with the turbo's you wouldn't know anything was going on otherwise.

I ran it pretty hard today (85-90) which I have not ready done much before (seems to be a drivieline vibration over 80 and that blistered my mileage...............
