Petition For FORD MOTOR COMPANY Recall for 5.4 motors
This is for all that has problems with there 5.4 motors and hopefully we can get those Corporate people to see we are a group of Ford owners that are serious about our vehicles and want something done that we did not create THEY DID on this poor design of a motor and need to fix and not at the cost of the consumers. http://www.change.org/petitions/ford...iton-2004-2008 if the server is down please do not give up we need as many as possible signatures as we can get. Thank you all. and good luck.

Good luck with your recall. you'll find however it will take an act of congress (really) before Ford will be forced to acknowledge the design defect. In 1999 60% of Dodge Durangos had electrical issues that were directly related to design defects. It was so bad most of these ended up in the junk yard in perfect condition. The Auto Consumer Board never pressed Dodge to fix the problem since most had over 50K miles. Keep fighting the machine....

^^^ +1 on that. Ford made plastic throttle bodies on the pre '08 focus that would stick on starting acceleration with temperatures below 45, they where close to recalling but never did. As far as I know its on all cars sold.
So good luck with anyone with these cars in any cold climate, good job ford! Maybe you could call it a safety feature, are you sure you want to accelerate?
With the 5.4 I wouldn't say they have any major problems. Remember they sold 4.5 million of the 04-08 f150's. It seems like you have a faulty engine, ford isn't going to repair every single car they sell off warranty for free. Nothing is guaranteed to run and work forever including cars. Did you buy it new, or used? Was the engine maintained? Did you ignore early warning signs?

A for effort.
But why exactly do you want ford to recall the motor? The petition and this thread have no details at all that might indicate even a hint at why Ford should consider a very very costly recall.

yes it was new only had 7 miles on it and every 3000 to 4000 miles i serviced it and the only warning sign was a miss fire in the exhaust when you accelerated hard to get off a ramp on to the highway or pass someone. Thats when it started going to dealer and they said it would be safe to drive but it needed cam phasers. I left the dealer and they are only 5 miles from my house and it took 45 minutes to drive 5 miles a straight shot home and been in drive way the last 1.5 years. I have replaced plugs, cops, vcts, cam phasers, timing chains, tensioners, cat on lower right that plugged to start this whole thing, starter due to this, water pump. so yes I take very good care of my vehicles and proud that this is my first brand new one that i struggled in this economy to pay off and it sits in my drive way unsafe and unable to be taken any where.

Bummer...I've got 65K on my '04 and it drives like brand new. I tend to think that with millions of these engines out there, only a very small percentage have issues early in their lives. This whole cam phaser thing, for example...I have to assume most of the time it's because of lack of oil changes, perhaps some just fail prematurely...IDK.
No offense, but I hope this lawsuit goes nowhere, as I own a considerable amount of Ford stock. At least do me a favor and wait until it get's up to $20 before you lower the boom on them, eh?
