Default People will never learn!

Came out of Lowes today to see a nice looking GMC, no bumper but receiver/hitch hanging down low. Actually, bent at the frame of the truck. Didn't observe any other damage to the truck, tail lights all in order, just this receiver bent at a 45 degree angle downward. Now this truck could have been hit by an 18 wheeler, but no body damage? Wonder why? Could it be the frames of the GMC's suck! Have been rear ended two times in my 02, F150. Received $34.00 total, as payment to damage. What is the saying, Ford built tough.

even if he tried to pull something out, unless he has no clue what he's doing, the hitch shouldn't have been bent at a 45 degree angle downward. my father and i have pulled out enough trees to know that even when picking the front wheels of a F-250 supercrew, v-8 diesel with an 8 foot bed off the ground, the hitch should not bend. (at least not on an American made product)

Probably got hit, damaged the bumper and bent the receiver hitch. (or backed into a wall)

He might have totally exceeded his towing rating, Exceeded the tongue weight rating by 500%, and had a 4 foot receiver extension!.

Not to worry though. Since it's a GMC, and probably still under warranty, he can call up the White House and get it fixed (On me)!

There are going to be many more of those times for the next 3 years and 9 months, at least.
