PCV Valve replacement F150 5.4 2004
I have been working on my vehicles for over 35 years and now can't find something as simple and as PCV valve!
Have an aftermarket manual that claims it is under a plastic bracket on top of the intake manifold - removed only to find what appears to be a heater tube. On other end of this insulated hose is an object that looks suspiciously like a PCV valve inserted into the top of the valve cover. Tried to remove it but is stuck, corroded/frozen into the aluminum valve cover casting and is getting damaged in my efforts. Attached a spare hose to it and blew through and it- behaves like a PVC should. So..... is it the PCV? Should it be almost corroded into the valve cover (truck is only 4 years old!) Should I overcome the corrosion issue and rip it out or am I persuing the wrong part?

did you check both valve covers for the wright one, theres two sets one is fixed and looks close to the one with the pvc valve, at least on my 5.4. but also for only like $5 you might as well change it with every oil change or air filter change or (K&N style)cleaning

Glad to see there is another old f**t around here. Don't drive the 5.4 to know exactly but thinking you are right on spot. "Attached a spare hose to it and blew through and it- behaves like a PVC should", know exactly what you are doing, our thinking is the same. Majority are saying, huh? Its a great site and everyone has their mark on it. Good luck and see ya later.
